The arrest came one day after a meeting in Bogota between the prosecutor of the Audiencia Nacional, Javier Zaragoza, and the Colombian Attorney General Mario Iguarán, to review judicial cooperation agreements signed between both nations.
Zaragoza not ruled out the extradition as an important mechanism of cooperation between the two countries, after stating that "money derived from narcotics trafficking FARC moves across Europe."
After the meeting, the Colombian Attorney confirmed the existence of an alleged agreement between the FARC and the basque separatist group ETA to carry out attacks and kidnappings.
The confirmation comes, according Iguarán, analysis of computers found in a FARC camp in Ecuador that the Colombian army shelled. In that incident died the second in command of the rebel organization, Raul Reyes.
It detected the presence of ETA members in camps by the FARC and that ETA would carry out bombings and kidnappings in order for this subversive group, "he said Iguarán, who was quoted in a statement.
